On August 2, 2026 we started our second round of fall seeds using the same mixture we have been loving — 1 part coco coir, 1 part perlite and 1 part compost. We will be honest and say these parts were not measured. We guessed and it worked out just fine!

We also took some time to map out where everything will go once it is ready to be transplanted. It’s not a fancy map, but it helped us map out some things. We are thinking ahead about how we can use our spaces for spring planting once the fall season is complete.
Finally we are thinking through cover cropping! We purchased Johnny’s Seeds Peas and Oats Mix as well as the recommended Johnny’s Garden Combination Inoculant.
